Year 10, 1944: W. Bro. Dr. Burjor Edulji Daruwala

The TENTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No.5514 EC was held on November 21,1944 when the Rt.W. the Dist. Grand Master and his deputation were invited. The officers for the year 1944-45 were:

W. Bro. Gaman Manilal Mehta, born on May 22,1906, was 34 years old when he embraced freemasonry. Manager, Sun Process Works he was initiated on on December 17,1940, passed on January 21,1941 and raised on April 15,1941. He resided at Soonawala Building No.3A, Block No. 7, Tardeo Tram Treminus, Bombay. His first office was that of Asst. Secretary on November 16,1943; Almoner on November 21,1944; I.G. on November 20,1945; J.D. on November 19,1946; Asst. Secretary on November 18,1947; Secretary on November 16,1948; Chaplin on November 15,1949; J.W. on November 7,1950 and S.W. on November 20,1951. He was installed in the Chair of King Solomon on November 20,1952 and was the IPM the following year. He looked after the finances of the lodge for 5 years till the end of the year 1963-64. He was called to the Grand Lodge Above in May 1966.

W. Bro. Manilal Valabhdas Dalal, a share broker by profession, resided at 270 Frere Road, Fort, Bombay. Initiated on February 18,1941, he was passed on April 18,1941 and raised on May 15,1941. The offices he held were Organist on November 21,1944; Asst. D of C in 1945-46; I.G. on November 20,1946; S.D. on November 18,1947; Secretary on November 7,1950. J.W. in the year 1951-52 and S.W. in 1953-53. Installed in the Eastern Chair on November 13, 1953 and IPM the following year. He resigned on March 18,1958.
