ABOUT THE LODGE
​Lodge Reginald Spence No 109 (Consecrated as Lodge Reginald Spence No 5514 EC) was Founded on November 10, 1934 and Consecrated on January 12, 1935. It operates under the Warrant of the Grand Lodge of Antient Free and Accepted Masons of India at Freemasons’ Hall, D Sukhadwala Marg, Mumbai 400001.
The Lodge meets on Third Tuesdays of every month except May, June and October (emergencies excepted)
The Lodge is a broad spectrum Lodge of around 45 members from various backgrounds. By broad spectrum we mean that it is a fusion of the strength of the youth and the wisdom of the experienced members. We have members in their 20’s to 90’s showcasing a unique blend of harmony, wisdom and strength. The motto of the Lodge is “Dum Spiro Spero” which is Latin for “While I breathe, I hope” and has been sustained by its esteemed members using its own BRICS model.
As of Nov 2024, the Lodge is under the able leadership of a young and dynamic Worshipful Brother Hasnain Ebrahim and this website was launched in his tenure.

and finally to further make them nearest to a “True Mason.”
A MASON
He is one who has no hate, envy or ego, who is gracious and compassionate, stays the same in the face of pain or pleasure, who is tolerant, self-controlled, firm in his resolve, spends time on devotion to the Almighty keeping the highest moral standards and best social manners and whose mind and intellect are fixed on only that is good in each.
He is one who disturbs no one, and who is never disturbed by anyone, who is unattached to happiness, impatience, fear or anxiety.
He is one who is not dependent on the results of action, but believes in continued action, is knowledgeable, impartial, and is free from desire.
He is one who neither rejoices, grieves, nor yearns, who is not affected by good and or evil and who is devoted always to do good to others.
He is one who treats friends and enemies equally, is balanced in honour and disgrace, heat and cold, happiness and anguish, free from attachment, about criticism and praise, controlled in speech, content, even-minded and engaged in laudable services.
LODGE ACTIVITIES
Contact Program with Non Masons
The Lodge conducts regular contact program with non masons in its efforts to promote Freemasonry and its principles among the public. Regular sessions are held with potential members and they are invited to Lodge activities to familiarise themselves with the Lodge, its members and its principles
Masonic Education Workshops
Masonic Education workshops are conducted regularly within the Lodge, as well as those open for Freemasons. This not only familiarises masons with the workings but also bonds Freemasons from different Lodges together
An excerpt of one such masonic workshop is given below
“We are often asked how Freemasonry is different from other social organisations. The core difference we often say is in RITUALS. This is not just about memorising a part, it is about living it. There is also a hidden meaning in the word RITUALS about Freemasonry really is.

T eamwork - within the Lodge, Region and Grand Lodge
U nderstanding - of each other and the Masonic Principles
A cceptance - of all brethren, situations and points of view
L evel - all on the level. Never look down on anyone unless bringing him up
S upport - brethren and others in need of without detriment to ourselves or our connections So brethren practice and remember your RITUALS within and outside the Lodge.”
Brethren of the Lodge organize and help in Charity activities since its inception and the Lodge has been at the forefront always taking part with enthusiasm. The Lodge generally sponsors one infant girl child for an entire year from food to medicine. The Lodge has actively taken part in charity activities undertaken by the Masonic Fraternity of Mumbai and also donated towards provisioning of an AED at the Freemasons' Hall, Mumbai. Brethren of the Lodge and their families also come together to celebrate Universal Brotherhood day encompassing community awareness programs and charity.

FRATERNISING
The Lodge Brethren, spread across the surface of the globe, travel to various masonic centres and also provide hospitality to travelling masons from India and the World.
